Join us at the 'Addressing your business challenges through university collaborations' event which is taking place at the Museum of Science and Industry, Liverpool Road, Manchester, M3 4FP

When: 28th June 2017, 08:00 - 12:00

This event will showcase how as an SME business you can work with universities on a variety of innovation projects that will help you to grow your business.

Award-winning Penny Haslam will be our facilitator on the day. Penny is a speaker, event host, media trainer and visibility coach who works with individuals and businesses to show them why it’s important to unlock their expertise, and how to do it brilliantly. She's a TEDx speaker, on the Power of Visibility, and was awarded Speaker of the Year 2016 by her professional association, the PSA UK.

You will be shown a range of examples of collaboration from early stage, short term student projects and academic-led consulting projects. Innovate UK will be delivering a brief on funding to support different types of projects. You will also be introduced to longer term projects for collaboration with universities such as Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs).

What will you come away with?
How to access support to address your specific business challenges through collaboration with academics at the four Greater Manchester universities.

By engaging with the services of the Business Growth Hub, who have Business Development Managers working with the four local Universities you can gain:

  • Support to help you to innovate
  • New products, processes, services and ways of working
  • Access to free masterclasses on innovation leadership
  • An independent brief preparation service to articulate your innovation challenges to universities in a language they understand

There will be facilitated 'Ask the Experts' panels with representatives from SME's, Innovate UK, Greater Manchester Universities and the Intellectual Property Office.
